The Genius of the Rain Machine

In Los Angeles in February 1969, Andy Warhol met with Maurice Tuchman and modern art curators at Los Angeles County Museum of Art to visit several Los Angeles companies with the intention of collaborating on the Art and Technology project. At that time he also attended the opening of Bruce Nauman's show of self-portrait holograms at Nicholas Wilder Gallery.

September - October 2008

Rabih Hage is launching his first pop-up store with the highly acclaimed Dutch designer-producer, Piet Hein Eek.

The pop-up shop will be based on South Kensington’s Exhibition Road as part of the Brompton Design District. It will operate from the 18th September to 30 of October; coinciding with the London Design Festival, which runs from 13-23 September 2008.

June - July 2008

The Rabih Hage Gallery will showcase an architectural project as part of the London Festival of Architecture. The Gallery will exhibit a Pavilion designed by Rabih Hage Design Studio and built by EOS Electro Optical Systems Ltd. This inspirational architectural project explores the possibility of using additive layer manufacturing (also referred to as e-Manufacturing or rapid manufacturing) technology within the built environment.

June 2008

London based curator, architect and designer, Rabih Hage, has been commissioned to create the VIP lounge at VOLTA; Basel’s most cutting-edge art fair that provides a showcase for over sixty galleries from around the world specializing in new and emerging art.

The VIP lounge at VOLTA is a space where key artists, collectors and influences in the international art world can meet; its design therefore has to reflect its importance as the focal point of VOLTA.

Whether coined by auction House Phillips De Pury, or writer Alex Coles, the term DesignArt has been the subject of great dispute since its inception.

In the Financial Times article, 'The Great DesignArt Debate', published April 11th, 2008, design gallerist Rabih Hage and contemporary designer Karen Ryan argue the relevance of the term and the need for this whole new branch of design.
