We are delighted to have designed the interior of this exceptional home for exceptional people with a serious contemporary art collection.
The challenge was to create an unpretentious living space with the interior decor and furniture taking second stage from the ever changing art collection on walls and floors.
The furniture layout and shapes were to stay functional, sophisticated, understated and to be discretely juxtaposed with the art. It should disappear yet compliment it.
A parchment special effect finish was carefully applied on the walls. This beautiful subtle finish is easy to touch up allowing infinite hanging and installations to happen over the years. The interior is homely and does not feel like a museum space, even though the art is of museum quality.
This is an example of our approach in interpreting the needs of the client for a beautiful interior melding functionality and aesthetics, respecting the fabric of the building.
