Celebrating 25 Years of Rabih Hage Studio
Our Extraordinary Journey and More on the Horizon
Twenty-five years. It feels like a blink and a lifetime all at once. As I look back on the incredible journey of Rabih Hage Studio, my heart is full of gratitude. From our very first projects to the thriving body of work we now share with the world, every step has been defined by a passion for architecture and interior design that is both altruistic and deeply human.
Reflecting on 25 years of building, curating, and dreaming, I see not just the projects and spaces, but the people and ideas that shaped our studio and my life. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working on a wide range of projects under the patronage of clients who trusted me, often becoming friends, and alongside brilliant team members who truly became family. With these magnificent people our studio today embodies an extraordinary journey through design, architecture and cultural influence.
From very early on, I felt that design was more than an object or a building—it is an emotional asset. This belief led me to curate design with meaning, to write about it with passion, and to start DeTnk, an online publication that for over a decade charted the evolution of design, collecting, and creativity. It allowed me to share a perspective on why collecting design was not just about ownership, but about emotional connection.
Supporting new voices and ideas has underpinned the work of the Studio from day one, and led me to launch a Bursary for creative talents and social impact, helping others to challenge norms and enrich the world of design. Our Bursary, now in its second year, represents a formalisation of our shared ambition to continue advocating and supporting artists, designers and makers contributing positively to society.
Over these 25 years, I have also been driven to start movements that question and redefine our built environment. Rough Luxe celebrated imperfection and authenticity, while Quiet Architecture championed adaptive reuse, honouring existing structures rather than replacing them. Today, my focus, alongside our distinctive interiorsand crafted architecture, is modular architecture, delivering buildings that are sustainable, reusable, and relocatable through off-site construction. I believe this is the way forward—a way to build anew without leaving a heavy footprint.
These years have been about more than design trends or movements—they have been about people, ideas, and a relentless pursuit of meaning in the spaces we inhabit. To my clients, my friends, and my team: thank you for building this journey with me, and thank you for your trust, talent and friendship that have shaped these 25 years. I am really looking forward to the rest of the journey together, and to everything we have yet to create.
